These
reversible 30" x 40" blankies are made in small batches by an enthusiastic
workforce of developmentally disabled adults at Envision (formerly known as CARC),
a vocational training and job center in Chicago. They are soft 100% cotton
flannel and can be machine washed and dried.
We are sad to say that this wonderful Many Hands Blankies project is coming to a close. Due to budget cuts at the state level, personel support for this and many programs for the developmentally disabled have been greatly reduced. We had as many blankies as possible produced so we could support the developmentally-disabled adults making them. These are in stock for immediate
delivery and will be available as long as supplies last.
The hang
tag on every blankie reads, "Our blankies are made in small batches by an
enthusiastic workforce of developmentally disabled adults in Chicago. Your
purchase provides meaningful work for many hands." You can learn more about this project by viewing the story produced by WTTW public television in Chicago on You Tube.
Each blankie is $75. For
an additional $5 we'd be happy to gift wrap your blankie and enclose a
note.
