This
quilt is titled "Happy Accidents" as explained by the following story.
In
1856, while trying to develop a treatment for malaria, William Perkin inadvertently
created a beautiful purple liquid. This liquid became the first aniline
dye and the origin of most fabric dyes used in the world today.
His
story reminds us that part of the joy of life is its twists and turns.
Improvisationally pieced, this one-of-a kind quilt captures the excitement
of discovery.
