Mendhi was inspired by the complex henna patterns applied to feet and hands traditional Indian ceremonies. The complex floral and geometric motifs translate beautifully to fabric for quilting as the original art is designed to mix patterns. The collection includes smaller-scale monochromatic prints that work with a variety of other fabrics a quilter might already have as well as larger-scale multicolored prints that offer a fresh look to even the simplest quilt design. Rich color work combined with motifs of varying sizes enable these fabrics to be used easily with both traditional and contemporary quilt designs. These sophisticated fabrics will lend beauty to other projects as well, including shirts, pajamas, sashes and bags.They are $9 per yard with one yard minimums.
